Liz Cornish, speaker, leadership transition expert, adventurer, and mom, seizes lessons from settings as varied as the boardroom, the soccer field, and the Arctic Circle.
Cornish is an expert in coaching women – from new supervisors though executive levels – to manage transitions, achieve their goals, and sustain top performance. Her McGraw Hill book, Hit the Ground Running: A Woman’s Guide to Success for the First 100 Days on the Job is the product of more than 300 executive interviews, 25 years experience in the leadership field, and thousands of research hours. The book provides a blueprint for organizing priorities, getting a handle on the tasks, and applying proven management/leadership techniques.
As a consultant, Cornish specializes in guiding individuals and groups to take advantage of change including new leadership challenges, business initiatives, startup projects, teams, and planning.
Here, Cornish talks about her solo canoe trip in the Arctic and the critters she met as she kayaked the Zambezi River. She ends the interview with advice for women in the business world.
