ATLANTA, GA (May 18, 2011): Womenetics is pleased to announce Ambassador Swanee Hunt, founder and president of Hunt Alternative Funds and co-founder of Women Moving Millions, will be the keynote speaker at the 2011 Global Women’s Initiative: The Ripple Effect. At this event, Womenetics will convene leading experts on global women’s issues for a symposium to explore ways to further advance women and girls worldwide. From critical areas including economic empowerment, human rights and corporate social responsibility, to providing equal access to education and health, this day-long program will feature global thought leaders who will inspire, motivate and engage attendees with discussions around increasing women’s impact in the world.
“As a civic leader, philanthropist, author and lecturer, Ambassador Swanee Hunt strives to expand women’s role in public policy and peacemaking, and to abolish modern day limitations,” says Elisabeth Marchant, president and CEO of Womenetics. “Her life’s work encompasses the topics we will cover at the 2011 Global Women’s Initiative and we are honored to have the opportunity to learn more from her about what is being done to lift up and empower women worldwide.”
As founder and president of Hunt Alternatives Fund, Ambassador Hunt works to advance innovative and inclusive approaches to social change at local, national and global levels. In addition to combating the demand for modern-day slavery, the Fund inspires women to political leadership, strengthens youth arts organizations, and encourages an increase in women’s philanthropy. Ambassador Hunt also helped to launch Women Moving Millions, an initiative designed to inspire gifts of $1 million and above to women’s foundations to improve the lives of women and girls.
The Global Women’s Initiative: The Ripple Effect will take place on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Intercontinental Buckhead Hotel in Atlanta, GA. The event will consist of discussions with thought leaders on the international, national and local stage surrounding essential topics impacting women globally, particularly access to education and health, economic empowerment and human rights.
