Keynote Speaker: Ambassador Melanne Verveer Women want change in the world. Increasingly, women are finding ways to lead the change they wish to see. Studies show that this is true both in the U. S. and around the globe, yet many women still wonder – How can I make a difference? It’s time to connect and explore how American women can help advance the social, economic and political status of women around the world. On November 11, 2010, Womenetics will present a half day event at the Loews Hotel Atlanta to address these questions. The program will connect attendees to key policy and decision makers working to advance women internationally. Keynote speaker, the Honorable Melanne Verveer, US Ambassador-at-Large on Global Women’s Issues, will deliver a powerful address encompassing the global status of women, the United States’ efforts to impact the well-being of women world-wide, and the public and private initiatives underway that are aimed at helping women control their own destinies.

With the “Global Women’s Initiative: Creating the Ripple Effect” – Womenetics will inspire dialogue surrounding four essential topics impacting women the world over: health & hunger, education & literacy, economic empowerment, and human rights. Attracting women and men working both in the professional and volunteer sectors, the conversation will launch through the authentic, insightful and seasoned voices of speakers and participants. Women instrumental on the international, national and local stage will join Womenetics and Ambassador Verveer to engage in frank discussions directly related to these key topics, and to empower women to become “…architects for change…” in their own lives and in the lives of others.

Following the luncheon program, there will be 4 programs covering these topics: Health & Hunger, Education & Literacy, Economic Empowerment, and Human Rights. Thought leaders in the corporate, not for profit, academic and public policy arena will be positioned on each panel. After the panel program, there will be a networking cocktail reception.
